But we also know that for a lot of other people, Fashion Week is about one thing in particular: Pictures.

You see it at shows/parties all the time – people posing awkwardly, trying to catch photographers’ attention in the hopes of ending up on Style.com. Some people even make a career out of it (you know who you are).

So we had a little chat with Scott Gries, veteran photographer for Getty Images, on how to maximize your chances of ending up on WireImage (because we all know that once you’re on that site, there’s really no going back.)

Just in case our readers are planning on hitting up some events dressed to the nines with a friend meant to act as a “publicist”. Or, you know, if you’re “just wondering”…

So Scott, what’s your advice for people hoping to get their picture snapped at an event?

1. Wear a noticeable outfit – I always go for people who are dressed fashionably. But on top of that, bright colors will get you noticed. Unless you’re Paris Hilton, don’t show up in all black – it just doesn’t make for a good photo, so it would definitely lessen your chances.

[Editor's Note: In case you're wondering whether a photographer from Getty actually knows what's in style or not, it seems that at least Scott kind of does. He called out Natalie's purple top as "last season" - it's actually not, but we guess purple was a big color last year, so an admirable attempt regardless.]

2. Stand next to someone famous.

3. Have a famous last name.

4. Look like someone famous (see the Paris Hilton doppelgänger of 2005).

5. Pose – a good one is to stand up straight with one foot sort of crossed in front of the other. This accentuates the curves of a woman’s body. Keeping your hands on your hips and kind of sticking your chest and butt out also helps.

6. Know the right angles – always keep your chin tilted down a bit, otherwise the picture comes out weird. Also, you really don’t want a shot up anybody’s nose.

7. If you’re a man – stand next to a pretty/well-dressed girl.

8. Go to the B-list parties – you’re more likely to have your picture taken if the photographers are desperate to get good stuff from a weak event.

9. Just go right ahead and court a photographer – this doesn’t always work though. Some people will claim to be an actress, and will even have a friend post as their publicist – with certain photographers this will actually work.

10. The best advice I could give is to cause a frenzy. Once somebody takes your picture, everybody else wonders who you are and if they should be doing the same. Get one photographer and you’ve got them all.

“Nina made a face when I asked about Victorya’s show,” says the spy, referring to Ms. Hong’s presentation at the Altman Building during Fashion Week, “But gushed about Alexandra. She said one of her friends had worn a dress by Alexandra at a wedding she went to recently and it was really gorgeous. She said she’s really excited to go check out her stuff.”

We’re still not convinced, but it’s nice that Alexandra will have a famous face in the audience, which might help attract even more hype to the former reality star.

Meanwhile, the race is on to pick the winner of Project Runway 4: Christian, Jillian, or the-one-who-must-not-be-named?

It’s the perfect match for the high waisted jeans/skirts/shorts we’re waiting to bust out again come spring. Can you tell we’re obsessed?

The top part is just loose enough; it’s feminine without being frilly, and modern enough to balance out the retro-ness of a high waisted bottom.

The best part is that we can get the tucked-in look without our shirt coming un-tucked every time we move – stuffing a shirttail into the back of fitted jeans is not exactly pretty.

On the other hand, we will have to worry about someone realizing that we’re basically wearing a body suit.

Oh, and the fact that consuming liquid is pretty much not an option while wearing said body suit.

No matter, though – fun over function is our fashion motto.

Fafarazzi, whose Project Runway game we’re a little obsessed with, is giving away another one of the signed, talking bobbleheads to whomever has the winning team for next week’s new episode.

So if your team is in 5,498th place, or if you never made a team in the first place, it doesn’t matter at all. Points are based only on that next Wednesday’s episode.

We highly suggest going for this if you’re a design student – we know we’d feel so official if Tim bobbled “Make it work!” to us late in the night.

But now that I live in Brooklyn and have lost the ten pounds I gained during that six month sublet, I can’t think of anything better.

Only catch is, in order to get your free cupcake, you have to buy something at the newly opened Coach store down the street.

This is bad because it means supporting the outdoor mall that now lives on Bleecker, but good because you can get cute shoes (without c’s please) and a delicious pink cupcake.

Just please don’t eat it on Carrie Bradshaw’s stoop.

We’re constantly planning on making pretty jersey dresses and chunky necklaces for summer, though they rarely come to fruition, but we never planned on DIY’ing our own Kelly bag.

Thankfully, Hermes has made it very easy. You can go on their addictive World of Herm猫s site – seriously, we’ve spent the past hour watching videos of models in India, coloring in scarves and plotting on how to afford their pretty hair pins – and print out your very own iconic handbag.

Color it in, cut it out, glue it, and just put it on your desk because it’s really very tiny.

It’s like paper dolls – but better.

But there seems to be a little confusion on the Tyra front, or someone missed the memo.

Reuters now reports that the show is called Stylista, and the contestants will vie for the coveted ELLE position as well as two other prizes we haven’t heard before: a year’s paid lease on a Manhattan apartment and – perhaps the most covetable of all – a yearlong shopping allowance at H&M worth $100,000.

Hey, at least we don’t have to share our name anymore…
