Daily Candy’s Print Tint

womandog.jpg Those following the fashion media industry might want to take note:

Daily Candy, the website that struck ’90s gold with their 24-hour shopping updates, is sort of making a magazine.

Called Daily Candy dossier, it’s already been released, but will get a big boost this week during L.A. Fashion Week, where (at least according to press releases) the tiny magazine will get distributed.

The idea is interesting for two reasons:

1. It follows Fashion Wire Daily and IQONS in releasing a print magazine well after its online presence is established.

2. It’s a leaflet that will only distribute during Fashion Weeks, competing with The Daily (no candy) in New York, The Daily Rubbish (also no candy) in London, and also WWD for industry attention during those big and editor-saturated events.

Good move? Odd move? And why aren’t they giving away actual candy with it?!

[Editor's Note, 3/7: It turns out Daily Candy's print edition is still a far-off in the future idea - but still check out their site for every other second updates during LA Fashion Week.]
